# Saved searches and alerts

> Save your targeting, re-run it as a free preview, and opt in to a daily email about newly seen records.

A saved search stores **targeting**: the same filters as `person_search` or `company_search`. Running it is always a free preview and uses your daily preview allowance. It never fetches paid records.

**How alerts work:**

* Alerts are **off** unless you turn them on. When on, you get a daily email at your account address.
* The first successful run sets a baseline. Later runs report records **newly seen in the free sample**, not every new match in the database.

You can have up to 20 saved searches.

## saved\_search\_create

**name** `string` *required*

Search name.

**entity** `string` *required*

`person` or `company`.

**filters** `object` *required*

The search filters to save. Paid controls (preview, limit, cursor) and full exclusion lists are not saved. Up to 10 `exclude_company_domains`.

**alerts\_enabled** `boolean` (default: false)

`true` for the daily email.

## saved\_search\_run

Run a saved search as a free preview.

**search\_id** `string` *required*

The saved search.

## saved\_search\_update

Rename a search, or turn its alerts on or off. The agent asks before turning alerts on.

**search\_id** `string` *required*

The saved search.

**name** `string`

New name.

**alerts\_enabled** `boolean`

`true` or `false`.

## saved\_search\_list

List your saved searches and their alert status. No parameters.

## saved\_search\_delete

Delete a saved search and stop its alerts. The agent asks you to confirm first.

**search\_id** `string` *required*

The saved search.
